South Sudanese Communities in the United States Condemn the Sudan Armed Forces Aerial Bombardments and Occupation of the Republic of South Sudan’s Territories

Press Release

By South Sudanese Communities’ Leadership

April 17, 2012 (SSNA) -- The South Sudanese Communities in the United States of America strongly condemn the systemic and barbaric aerial bombardment of innocent civilians inside the territory of the Republic of South Sudan by the Sudan Armed Forces. We fully support and stand behind the South Sudan Army (SPLA) and its government under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit in claiming back the city of Heglig (Pan Thou). We stand ready to come home and defend the territorial integrity of our new born nation including Heglig which is the territory of the Republic of South Sudan annexed to North Sudan after oil discovery by the former Sudanese President Jafer Numeri.

We call upon the international community to exert pressure on the government of Sudan to immediately stop the killing of the innocent civilians in the Republic of South Sudan, guarantee safety of South Sudanese citizens in the North and to withdraw its forces from Abyei and other areas with no preconditions.

Long live the SPLA
Long live the Republic of South Sudan
And long live president Kiir.
